Paul, your tree peony is GORgeous!!!

My spring is here, what I posted above was taken this past week.

My roses usually start blooming in April if I cut them back early enough, these are all last year's shots.

The peony is in a friends garden and for a few days each spring it is spectacular.

I see that! Mine was in a pot for 4 years. I planted it last fall and now it's sulking.

I opened another folder and found these......

Celia, your Hellebore looks a LOT healthier than does mine.

Tom, Zonal Geraniums will come back reliably as long as they are mulched well and the winter has no sustained below freezing temperatures--sustained meaning continuously below zero for several days in a row.

I would love to have zonal geraniums here. We haven't seen below zero all winter. I would be willing to try one plant. All the others are in pots on the dining room table (moved in from garage) and are turning nicely green processing chloraphyl. (sp) They had growth all winter in the dark but were ghostly white until moved into the house. I think I have one Martha Washington in the bunch

I love Martha Washington geraniums -- and have no luck with them at all..............

Had to go look those up--I like!

Our Santa Rosa plum two days ago

Wow, yours is early Jan, I have the weeping variety of Santa Rosa plum and it's just getting tiny leaves.

Sue, the bees have been so busy, it looks like a small snowstorm with fallen petals under the tree.
It really should have been pruned earlier this year. We've been busy bees ourselves.

Wow, the west coast is certainly MUCH farther along into spring than the east coast. We are colder than usual in NC and running late.
