Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (Part 2)

By NEILMUIR1
July 19, 2011

Hampton Court Palace is in Surrey, which is to the west of London and lies on the side of the River Thames. The first Flower Show was held here in 1990 but it was not until 1993 that it became a Royal Horticultural Society Show. By concentrating on environmental issues, growing your own, and cookery, it was different from the Chelsea Flower Show. It also allowed people to test new tools and to buy plants, neither of which is allowed at the Chelsea Show until the last day. Please join me as I venture through the Surrey mud to see what I can find.

Dear Lee Anne, everyone says the same to me! I am a three times Chelsea Flower Show winner myself and now I am on the other side of the fence! I go and most of the time I talk to old friends I know whether they be Human or plants. Rolling on the floor laughing I get wet, cold, physically and verbally abused and it costs a lot to go, Plus carrying a lot of camera weight around is not fun anymore. So why do I do it? Well I love plants and I love making people Happy, so now with the internet, Dave's skills, and my work people can see things they may have never seen!
As one of my readers said to me " when I see one of your Articles pop up, I get a bowl of coffee, tell my DH to be quiet, and I sit back and look at England on my computer as I know I will never get there."
That Lee Anne made me Happy. That is why I trudged 31.2 miles from home then around Hampton Court in the rain and the mud.
Kindest Regards.
Neil.

Neil, I have to say that I, too, am just a tad bit jealous that we don't have those kinds of flower shows here... just stunning! I am very grateful that you share these shows with us, what a lovely way to spend some time on a rainy day in Colorado! Thank you!

Dear Brenda, the simple way is to organize one! Get everyone involved and let it grow (excuse the pun).
Surely if we can do it, with all the might of America you can.
Glad you enjoyed it, now for part 3 & 4!
Glad you are back amongst us, at least some sanity returns.
Group hug Lovey dubby

Dear Brenda, that is easy! You are a fine cook, married to a good British Gentleman and are a fine lady, is that not enough to qualify? For it is to me, so therefore that makes you sane and not eccentric like me.
Have you read part 3 yet which is at http://garden.org/articles/vie...
Any further comments would be valued upon reading part 3. For anyone who goes through the rain and mud to get pictures to put on here is mad. Then the wife would not let me in the house until she hosd me off with the ice cold garden hose. Mad as a March Hare as they say! Rolling on the floor laughing
I hope you are both well?
Group hug
Neil.
