Here's a pretty one - Plestiodon faseciatus, 5-lined skink. The blue tail indicates a juvenile. My sister had one in her bed once (scared the bejesus out of her).



I'm also disenchanted with the new Windows (I'm using 10) - it used to be so simple to open a photo and edit it (I'd like to crop this for better detail). Now, I can barely even FIND my uploaded photos, let alone edit them. I may go with a Mac for my next computer as well. Getting crankier with technology the older I get. KISS (keep it simple stupid!)

I used Windows 7 for years, Deb - but then 8 came along and it was like learning a foreign language. I've heard nothing but complaints from my friends who are still trying to master it. Good luck!

How weird is this little guy?!? It kinda looks like a mask around his eyes, but is that a cut behind his head? I didn't notice any cuts until I looked at the picture on my monitor.

Ibis I think it's just a fold of skin, a wrinkle.

This whiptail seems to be getting tamer by the day.
Today it was if it was saying, "Okay, take the picture so I can move along!"

As you've probably figured out by now, I have a fondness for lizards. Today I got to witness a rare sight: these two whiptails were out strolling (looking for bugs), which is not unusual. What made it special is that they stayed together - as if they were a bonded couple! I had never seen this behavior before today. Pictures aren't great but I wanted to document this.

I love the anoles' poise. They would be good to sculpture. Alas, even if I try to draw a lizard they look like ducks

I love the way they tilt their head when you talk to them. Then I can see straight through their earhole to the other side. It's really cool.
