Our Minnesota NARGS Chapter annual banquet is coming up, and I made some neat door prizes. (At least I think they are pretty cool... )

I made a couple mugs:


First Mug: Viola pedata, Hacquetia epipactis, Taraxacum pseudoroseum.
Second Mug: Phyteuma orbiculare, Coryphantha vivipara, Antennaria rosea ssp. confinus.

And some tins:


Well, a lot of tins.... but only a few left, as everyone in the family got to pick one to take home last Christmas.

I think they are cool too. Great idea for door prizes! They will be much appreciated by the winners .

I'd be way chuffed with tins like those. I think we need to see your avatar and 'Leftwood' in sinister (sinister means left-handed, doesn't it???) black writing on white mugs

If I could etch out the "Shutterfly" brand name on the bottom, and then sign it.

For many years in the 1980s and '90s, I did make my own (left-handed) Christmas cards. And yes, my left-handed calligraphy is, ahem...... unique.

Oh! Distinctive! Another hidden talent. I likes.

Does this mean that your avatar is your own creation? I thought it must be an illustration from some version of The Little Shop Of Horrors. But even better if you inked it yourself. It always makes me smile! (I hear "feeeed meee, Seymour! )

Of course! But clearly not a "best work". I drew it in a pot first...


Originality is a "for me" thing, and that's why I created and wrote my own Christmas cards. Friends and family lament that I quit, but since the new millennium, anyone can print their own cards via a computer, and it's just not the same anymore. But, there are still very few left-handed cards out there.

Look out... man-eating plant... unpotted and hungry!
