I need to move Thornbird and see if it looks better with other colors (than I have it near now). If it doesn't look good in the new spot I have picked out, it's going away for good- just not gaudy enough for me ya know, LOL.

Sometimes Thornbird picks its own spot in the garden...

Here it is snuggling up to Magic Hope. I wouldn't have planted the two colors next to each other, but they didn't look too bad!

Ah, great minds! Yes, that is indeed the color scheme of the area I'm moving Thornbird to, wine, cream, beige, reddish plum, and some burgundy foliage plants. Now it is among blues, purples, and lavenders, and looks kinda dirty among the clear, saturated colors.

Well -- I'm not likely to ever get that one -- it's a 1983 cultivar............ Shrug!

Mary Ann,

There are of course plenty of people who grow cultivars from 1983. Maybe you just need to come over and join us in HIPS.

Sorry; couldn't resist the plug.

Thank you Brett -- I never thought about that as a solution -- probably because it's hard to wrap my mind around something from the l980's as historic. Big Grin I'm not sure I'll ever get used to that. I was born in the 40's -- now THAT'S historic!!! Green Grin!

I might have to meander over to that group. Is there a web address?

Pam -- I wrote out a reply to you last night, thanking you for your kind offer. It never showed up here -- I must have forgotten to click on the *finished* button. Sighing!

So again -- thank you, I accept your kind offer -- and hope that there's something I have that you'd like to have in return!!

That's funny Lucy -- I haven't been called *kid* in a very long time!!! Hilarious! My Hub is a 30's kind of guy -- so my lifestyle is real similar to yours. We're privileged to be *enjoying* these years -- many people don't live long enough to do so. But I do resent the limitations that it presents. We need an icon that throws up its arms in frustration!!!

Thank you Sue -- I'm on Facebook, so I'll check it out there! Brett are you on the Facebook group?
