I just read this wonderful article about The Beautyberry shrub. Although I have never seen it except in photos I think it is so very beautiful, especially when the berries are ripe. I wonder íf this shrub will tolerate cool summers? Our winters here in The south part of Iceland are rather mild, average temps around 30F and our summers around 60 to 65 degrees F. Does anyone know what this planr will tolerate?

I don't really have the answer since I live in such a different climate; I know Beautyberry can tolerate very hot conditions. It is a deciduous shrub that is very slow to come out of dormacy in late spring, so that may be because it waits for temps to warm up. Although, I mostly find it growing under large trees, like oaks where it is shaded from the sun.
