Empress Wu in the Hostas forum

I think 'Princess Wu' is either a name a nursery gave to the plant OR a sport from one nursery that has not been registered. There's simply no trace of any real info about it on the Internet.

I am trying Empress Wu for the 2nd time. Couldn't resist a sale of $6. It was about 10" tall and wide in a one gallon pot. How many years does it take to get around 3'?

That picture you see of Empress Wu with the guy standing near it measuring it... Well that was Wu's daddy, the late Brian Skaggs, and he told me EW was six years old in that picture. Mine isn't doing anything like that.

I am not a Hosta grower due to no shade but a company I have dealt with for years buying Daylilies also sell Hosta. I believe he has Empress Wu on his website.The company is called Homestead Gardens out of Missouri. If his Hosta divisions are anything like his Daylilies I dont think you will be disappointed.

I live in the St. Louis area and we love Homestead Farms in Owensville, MO...nice Iris too! They are also a recommended vendor by the St. Louis Hosta Society.

I will ck out the Homestead company. I am going to the St L area this wkend, does their Botanical garden have many hosta? ,
