Debra the garden is looking great ! We all know first hand how overwhelming it can get at times. We will just sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Have fun and take care of yourself and the family.

I agree with Mike and Bonnie. It is wonderful to have all of your pictures in one place so we can enjoy all of them rather than missing some scattered in other threads we might not read. Take care of yourself.

Glad to see all your pictures and buds on your Dutch Iris. I love Dutch Iris, they make such beautiful blooms.

Always interesting to me how Daffodil blooms of the same cultivar are staggered depending on how much sunshine they get--gives me extra-added-bonus of extended bloom time.

Something so simple can be so exciting. This Gerbera has gamely come back year after year regardless of cold, heat, drought, and ice--and the fact that it is in a shallow trough container.



The drain holes appear to be plugged, poor Patriot Hosta is sloshing. Will get some help to dump and refill.



One of the community garden folks came by a few weeks back and brought me some Tulip bulbs.



Veronica Sunny Border Blue. Another trouper. Planted in a less than optimal location and still looks happy.

Love the Tahiti Double Daff!

I love that Tahiti daffodil. I have some in my yard and they are my favorites. Your yard is looking great, Debra. Looks like spring has sprung where you are. Our daffodils are just beginning to bloom.

Gerbera are tough , Debra. They survive and bloom all year here even when abused.

Creeping Phlox // Golden Oregano


First time since planting in 2011 that this one had more than a single bloom at a time.

It really is spring there with all your lovely blooms. That daff is just stunning!

I have lots of daffs in sunny spots and than also really shady places. Yes, it really does help spread out the bloom season.

Vinca

I started to say Vinca but not being familiar - as in never having had - that kind of Vinca.... It's lovely! I think it will grow here but I'm sort of afraid to try it. Seems like I hear people complain how it takes over.

@flaflwrgrl Yes, the vinca takes over. I planted it in AR and DH told me not to. It grows here with great abandon and I attempt to keep it under control, but I love its beautiful blue flowers which are among the first in the spring.

Oh I do see it going nuts there Jean. And realizing it's only spring I can only imagine where it's gone by mid summer.

I fight the old fashioned Vinca every spring. There are new varieties that are not thugs in the garden and can be kept in check but those of us that have dealt with the older variety have harrowing stories to tell. The blooms are beautiful but if I did not fight it, especially in the spring, within one year I am sure you could drive by and look at a mountain of greenery and say 'wasn't there a house there once?'.

Mostly in the yard waste. There is always enough left to see the next spring.

We have Vinca major here.. It can be a foot and a half thick, and needless to say, perfect habitat for rodents. One of my neighbors told me it was planted as a fire retardant here in the mountains.. I have a hard time believing that. It's a royal pain.. I've got it coming through the fences and rooting under shrubs... then climbing through them.. Conversely, I'm quite fond of Vinca minor... especially some of the variegated forms.. but they're slow here.
