I hope so too Kousa. I like Yankee Doodle Dandy, but Lollipop is what I was really after that year.

So my "Lollipop" from MB finally blooms. Unfortunately, it is not Lollipop. Sad Sad I don't know what my mislabel Lollipop is. This is what it looks like

Does anyone know its id? Can it be Berry Garcia, Keiko or Kopper Kettle? I guess I shouldn't be too upset as it is after all a full flower with many petals. But I really want the yellow and red stripes flower.

I will post add'l pics for each day it stays open to see if it changes colors.

It's not Keiko. Other than that, I am not sure. It's pretty.

It's possible Alex may be right. Especially if that was something they offered. I think when you order from there, you have about a 30% chance of them getting it right. The size plants they send, I always think by the time they bloom they figure most people have forgotten what they even ordered.

So do you call them at this point and tell them they messed up? Will they replace it?

The color is not quite right for Berry Garcia so I vote for Kopper Kettle as well. And they'll either replace it or send you a check, even if it's been several years.

Karen, it's very pretty though, you can't go wrong with Itoh peony.

I do not think it is Kopper Kettle.
It is pretty, though.

I don't have Kopper Kettle yet, ordered it for this fall from Solaris. I've only seen it in person once at the 2014 APS convention and remember being surprised at how much pink there was in it--all of the pics I'd seen made it look really coppery. I just can't think of any other Itohs that have the coloring shown in your pic, Karen. Is the pic pretty close to the real color you're seeing?

Here are photos I took a couple of weeks ago at the local nursery of Kopper Kettle. It has some variegation.

Those pics are of fairly mature blooms, though--would've been a more solid color when it first opened. I didn't realize KK faded as much, those blooms are really pretty, LG. Different beginning colors but the way it fades reminds me of Singing in the Rain. Bet it's gorgeous mature with the coppery side buds showing at the same time with the yellowing main flowers!

Here are some more shots of the "Mystery" itoh. It definitely does not look like your Kopper Kettle pics, LG.

Hope I can find its ID someday. There is not that many itohs peonies out there. What can it be? Maybe it is a mutation of Kopper Kettle. Confused Hilarious!

Hope your Lollipop and Gray's Lollipop will bloom true to name, Liz! Crossing Fingers!

Here is a pic of Itoh Hillary blooming in my garden today. The "Mystery" peony does not look like my Hillary itoh either.

I looked at Select Plus. Could it be 'Rose Fantsy'? Does it have 6 carpels?

I don't think it is Rose Fantasy, LG! RF is more rose red than Mystery itoh. You know what? Looking at your pics of Kopper Kettle, those flowers look a lot like Lollipop. How much do those go for? Do you know if they do mail order?

Karen, that was exactly my thought when I looked at LG KK! But with almost faded flowers it is hard to say for sure.

Well, Karen maybe you have a sport! Wouldn't that be fun.
My nursery hasn't offered KK in a while.
Maybe they will in the Fall. It is on my Wishlist.
I will let you know.

Several of the images for KK show streaking on the petals.

I ordered Kopper Kettle and Morning Lilac from MB for 50% off, or $25 each. Usually you get a plant that is small, takes 3 years to bloom, and looks to be a tissue culture plant. See the original pics in this thread. Well, today I got the Kopper Kettle and the packaging was distinctly different from all the previous peonies I have purchased from them. The package was much smaller and the root was packaged like this
Thumb of 2016-09-24/graycrna4u/b6ca77

When I opened the package, took out the root, and washed it off, this is what I had

Thumb of 2016-09-24/graycrna4u/b3dbd8

A large single root (thick) with at least 6 + eyes. It is about 10 to 12 inches in length. Unlike their tissue culture plants, this root is large enough to bloom next spring. Any one else get this kind of root from MB?

I'm excited now, graycrna4u, I ordered that KK as well! Haven't received mine yet, though. I'll post back when I do, hope mine is like yours!
