Do any of you remember the scene in the movie, Gorillas in the Mists, with the gardener lady at her home, surrounded by blooms? There were Asltroemerias all around, and I've been sort of obsessed with growing them ever since. The increasing number of hardy varieties is so exciting! Its been a long wait, LOL

Hilarious! no--I never saw that movie--but *your* obsession and encouragement to try them is what inspired me Neal!

I'll let you know how they do in my 'micro-climate'--we dug out all the clay to 3' deep and replaced with a nice, rich free-draining mix.
