Comfrey is incredible. It's a soil builder, a fertilizer, a compost enhancer, has medicinal properties, is a good feed source for animals, and much more. Let's talk about this chief of plants.

Dave, if comfrey is poisonous, how can the chickens & livestock eat it without being harmed? I would be afraid to feed it to them. How do you know how much to give them??
It's not poisonous per se, but it can cause liver damage with a lifetime of accumulations. I think animals don't live long enough to accumulate toxic amounts.
