I'm new and live in Southern California.

I found your site while searching for help for my Dragon Fruit.

I've had it for about a year. It now has this bruising look.

What is it? How to I get rid of it?

Now that you mention it, I did move it a few months ago into the sun. I had it hanging on the back
porch with morning sun and afternoon shade. I was worried it wasn't getting enough sun. It has had this problem for a while. Do you think it's too much sun? Last month we did have some super hot days.

I just walked out and checked mine, no marks like that. But it could be cold damage from winter's chilly nights.

Watch for new growth, and if it is healthy and green, I wouldn't worry about that brown mottling as long as it's not spreading up the stems.

Btw. mine is growing in partial shade, but does get some direct sun in the early afternoons. My neighbor is growing one in almost full sun, so I don't think heat or sun should damage it like that.

It's not a plant I know well, but that's good background info for those who might be able to help, to have.

Even though I make efforts to avoid it, when I take plants outside that have been inside for winter, there's usually some issues with sunburn on some of them. Some of it is similar looking to your plants' issue, but not identical. If others don't think that's what it is, I'll be going along with them.
