Shirlee,, I do that cake two different ways. It's chocolate cake with either peanut butter frosting or malted milk frosting, and both have a yummy chocolate ganache poured over the top. I just finished a Black Forest cake that was chocolate cake with a cream cheese filling and cherry pie filling on top of the c, cheese layer. I used a new chocolate frosting recipe that turned out like the best fudge you have ever tasted!!! Good thing I rarely get to taste these things or I would weigh a ton!!

Freda, that is a beauty of a flower!!

There are some gorgeous large blooms already in this thread ( and that cake is to die for! Drooling ) here are three of my favorites....

Big George, a huge 7 inch gold double

Mystic Pizza, a 9" bright red that catches your eye from across the garden.

Tall Blonde, a 9" glowing yellow polychrome.

Those are so pretty, Char. Don't you wish you had all the garden space you wanted, and someone to do all the work for you Whistling
I would be in heaven, lol.

I would still want to get my hands dirty. They could handle all the heavy lifting, weeding and grass cutting etc.

One of my favorite large flowers is HIGHLAND TOWER. It is nothing special to look at but it is a later bloomer and that is why I keep it.

Me too, Mike. I could deadhead and fertilize, water, etc. I could wear a long flowing dress and carry a basket to pick flowers in, lol. That would get pretty boring, but I am willing to give it a try. It's like winning the lottery. So many people say they wouldn't want the money because it would ruin their lives. At my age, I am willing to give it a try!!

Here is a large flowered daylily that I like it blooms late in my garden it is Goldner's Bouquet.
Seems to increase rather slowly could be the spot where I have it planted.

I agree with Mike. Both of those are standout flowers. When I first started gardening, I said no to yellow flowers because I thought they were so ordinary, but not anymore!!! They make all the other colors just pop. My Banana Peel is one of those great yellows.

'Women Seeking Men' is a large flower here -- around 7" although registered size is listed at 6"

You just don't miss her in the garden.
