You did the right thing, Rick. We can never be too careful when it comes to elephants. Whistling

Eternal vigilance!

Or maybe it was the garlic-breath that kept them away. No sense in taking chances with wild elephants! I had better eat more garlic.

I am completely sold out and in fact, am oversold. Thanks to all of you that ordered garlic this year and I apologize again to those of you who had their orders "altered".

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

While (I think) there was nothing that I ordered, I opened the box this a.m. and the mellow smell of garlic is infusing the computer room. Mellow!! I'm inhaling and it's awesome! My mouth is watering. There are healthy basil on the front porch, ripe tomatoes on the countertop. I'll make Italian baguettes this afternoon. Guess what for dinner! OMG, these smell wonderful! We have a friend from Naples, Italy. Friday I might share with him. Can't imagine anyone who would like it more then he.

Thank you Dr. Dawg for the varied selection of garlic! We will do a taste test, although the smell tells me what I need to know.

Our mail carrier has tried garlic and he lives inland and north of us so he should be able to grow it. I'll share and will help him grow it.

I can't wait!!!!!!!

I tip my hat to you. Don't depend on your nose, Arlene. Try a pinch of each variety raw to get the full affects of flavor and pungency.

Shrimp Scampi with little tiny russian red cloves...no chopping...delicious. I had taken a head apart before I realized what those little things were. *Blush* Delicious. Im roasting at least a clove of each I got...some good bread...and I will have a moment in taste testing heaven. Trying one of each too raw. With some luck, I can stop in time to keep some to plant .....thanks Dr. nodding

Good luck with having any to plant. I have tried for four years to put back enough for fall planting. I never have enough. We use it too much in the kitchen. Whistling I end up buying garlic in September, year in and year out. Unfortunately, this year will be no different, even worse. I sold every single bulb that had an intact casing and actually over-sold...........again. Sticking tongue out I keep those that I messed up digging (I try to be so careful but I still tear the case on a few) or those that continued to grow while curing, the cloves breaking through the casing. Those "defective bulbs" won't nearly satisfy our need for kitchen-garlic, much less for planting.

Oh well, I said growing garlic has a bit of a learning-curve. I guess I am just a slow learner. *Blush* Perhaps I will do better with my next planting. Shrug!

Yes, the "defective" bulbs are just fine, but they are not esthetic. I want the garlic that I sell to not only taste great and store long-term, but look its best.

Believe it or not, Pam, we are still eating the Creole garlic from last June's harvest. It is still flavorful and pungent. Hurray!

Good evening. Thought that I give a update on the wonderful garlic that I received from you. Gave some to a homemaker and a chef. Both said that it was delicious and want more when I order next year. We will see......

It always amazes me, Ivy, that chefs and knowledgeable cooks have never had other than commercial-grade garlic. We will see about next year. I hope to plant my heirloom, gourmet garlic this fall, but time will tell. Father-Time is beginning to bear on me.

That's always my problem too, Pam. I keep 10 lbs. for myself and never have enough for planting in the fall. I hope the garlic was up to your hopes/expectations.

I'm keeping most of what I got from Ken to grow this fall. I was so ready for some new varieties, and I've loved everything I've tasted. We're using the smaller bulbs to eat, and will plant the larger ones.
