There are so many similar passiflora that pinning down your precise plant probably isn't going to happen without pics of the flowers...

check Passiflora capsularis and Passiflora amalocarpa.... But it's most likely Passiflora lutea.

Do you ever get zebra longwings out your way? Valuable host plant... Otherwise.... look for the fritillary's orange caterpillars....

I don't think it is Passiflora lutea http://www.wildflower.org/gall...

Hey purple, I wonder if it would be a good idea to move your photo to a separate thread. Shrug! You may be more answers that way. Thumbs up

I would if I was seeking ID for the leaf. TY! If I'm able to find it again, and capture enough pics that I think could lead to ID, I will ask. I would never piggy-back someone else's discussion trying to ID a pic I took.

Sorry for the confusion. I showed it because it was so similar to the original, and noticed only because of this discussion. As a whole, the discussion is a good example of how even a leaf that unusual can be very hard to ID.

Looks like it might be Autumn clematis afterall. He is a sneaky fellow. As the vine is growing the leaves are changing

Looks like the Clematis may be the correct ID.
In our database we have a b'jillion photos of flowers and several pics of seeds but no photos of the juvenile leaf form and pattern.

I think you need to ask one of the plant admins/mods to delete and/or move the photo for you.
The moderators are Calif_Sue, eclayne, KentPfeiffer, and zuzu; just pick one of them and put an @ in front of their name and they will be alerted to this thread.

Anna, If Sue or another database administrator isn't around, you can delete the photo yourself.

Go here: Tweedy's ticktrefoil (Desmodium tweedyi)
Scroll down and click on your photo; then scroll all the way to the very bottom of the page and click on where it says "Propose this image be deleted". It will ask why and just type in that it's the incorrect plant and then click on submit. You will get a system message when it's been approved and deleted.
