Quote from the crassulaceae.net link:
"Its false name of “Villadia batesii” has become so very established that it may take another half century just to correct it! The internet is still filled with references to this old false name. Will people ever learn to call it by its new, and at last correct name of Sedum goldmanii? "
I think the one I have appears to be this plant from the photos. There are lot of photos tagged Villadia batesii in Google photos and they really look the same as the one I'm growing. I'm going to re-tag my photos as Sedum goldmanii and hope it sticks this time
. I think with the combination of observation and DNA testing, the taxonomy is probably fairly stable now, but it's going to take a long, long time for published info to catch up. The written word doesn't disappear easily once it has been printed. Here's a photo I took in July.
I can now verify it can take a few hours of below freezing temps. My particular spot got a lot colder than it was supposed to night before last and 4-5 plants took a hit that is probably going to be fatal, but this one doesn't show a hint of any damage. Neither did a huge Mandevilla which shocks me. I miscalculate or forget something at least once or twice every winter
