Looks like Noctua pronuba to me, the large yellow underwing moth. The larva is a cutworm.

Edit: I looked to see if there was anything else similar, and Noctua comes (lesser yellow underwing) looks similar - the easiest differentiating feature is the black line on the yellow lower wing, if it's there it doesn't show in your picture but you may be able to check when it moves around:

Reading some more, there's also a size difference between the two as well as the black "dash" on on the underwing. I think it is more likely Noctua pronuba.
