That's impressive, you will have to send a pic this year of Empress Wu, my Sum and Substance has been in place for about 10+ years and is probably 36--40 in tall and at least as wide. Empress Wu is going into her 4th year probably around 30" tall as of last year. Sun until noon, loamy soil.

Hello
My garden has been abandoned since this fall 2016: problems of work and health: dahlia campanulata, cestrums, gelsemium, clematis montana or armandii survive
I decided to start by counting my mini hostas collection in pots : blue mouse ears, sum and substance, halcyon, blue c adet ,empress wu ..
I would like to complement this little collection of hostas
What do you advise me: high society, june ......?
Too many choices !!!

Many, many choices. What sort of hostas are you looking for, size, colors, shape etc?

Bonjour
I discovered Hostas in south of France with a so nice perfume ...plantaginea..probably the first hosta since many centuries in Europe.
In my country,we have serious problems with slugs so Hosta in pots.
I like my sum and substance and empress wu....don't know new giant in France ...so easy to grow
but also my blue mouse ears and holy mouse ears...the mini hostas looks like bonsais
I like also blue foliage : blue cadet, halcyion
....and variegated foliage like High society and June ?
I want to find the top 50

There are lots of great hostas, I like Liberty, Blueberry Waffles, Blueberry Muffin, Hanky Panky, Bridal Falls, Luna Moth, Whee, June, Blue Vision, Stained Glass, Guacamole, Tenyru, Regal Splendor, Ripple Effect, Spilt Milk, Goodness Gracious, First Blush, Evening Blush, Blue Lettuce, Kiwi Monty, Volcano Island, Lakeside Palm Sunday, Lakeside Paisley, Minis Snow Mouse, Woodland Elf and Fragrant Bouquet (very fragrant).

Lots of good info here:http://www.americanhostasociety.org

Sluggo is a good product to deal with the slugs.

I'm sure others will chime in.

Hi rosebud, I'm in Germany and order my hostas from Fransen or Van den Top in the Netherlands. They have a great range of hostas and I was never disappointed. Their quality and service is excellent.
