The salad was fine but I do think there's more flavor to the lettuce when grown outside.

I am not worried about growing anything indoors. Well, at least not until I start my veggie seeds in the spring.

Do have lots done for spring on that veggie garden. Cages set up, compost spread, truckloads of compost. Then to finish mulching with fall leaves as much as possible. I really want to be ready for spring.

That's my aim, Rita! I'd love to begin spring just looking at the crocuses and daffodils instead of starting by doing cleaning so I'm doing all I can now.

I have done stuff this fall that I always leave for spring. I decided my veggie beds needed lots of compost and I didn't want to deal with having to do it all in the spring. So I had compost by the truckload. Once that was on I could put out the tomato cages exactly as I wanted them to be. Then start on the fall mulching. I put leaves everywhere as they are free.

Usually I have to mulch with straw on the veggie gardens as I have no leaves in the spring. But this year getting the leaves on as much as possible. Of course I will still need some straw in the spring.

But I am so very much ahead for next season. This milder weather many days has really helped as otherwise it would be cold and the ground frozen. But not this year. So I have really taken advantage to get my garden in shape.

You're wise to get ahead and have more time for the joy of planting come late April. The compost and cages are done for the few tomatoes I grow. I'll add the pine mulch after I plant.

Today was a glorious day and I did lots of clean-up to tidy up what our guy cut back and to remove coleuses. They pull right out so easily.

Well, I had move lots of stuff around in the fall. later fall I guess. I wanted to make more room for veggies so had to do major re -arrangeing of some of the daylilies. So more room for tomatoes and summer squash next season. I have more vertical space too as I had put in more posts and trellis spaces.

Thanks. I will be really happy with my veggie garden next season.

It isn't one actual space. There are veggie beds all over the garden in different areas.
