Fabulous! The soil is mostly sand. Easier to amend than clay I guess.

That is good. You can probably harvest a lot of leaves to keep the sand supplied with organic matter.

Absolutely, Reid!! One of the very first gardens that I had, way, way back in my mid to late 20s, was in a very sandy location. My now-ex-husband and I were living in a rented house and dug up a garden area where one had never been -- while the neighbors snickered and warned us that we probably wouldn't get much of anything. A little fertilizer and water goes a long way when you have sand; you should have excellent drainage and that can be hard to come by in many areas.

When I opened the findmyshadow page my Norton Internet Security came up with a message that the site is unsafe... has anyone else had that happen??

I use the FireFox Web of Trust add-on and it doesn't show anything negative about that site.

Norton is funny like that. You have to add the site to your 'approved' list. I got rid of Norton and that solved the problem.

Several years ago, my local computer guru suggested getting rid of Norton and installing Microsoft's (free!) Security Essentials. End of problems. My only gripe with MSE is that they discontinued supporting Windows XP. Grrr.

Yes, weird -- I went back to it and didn't get the warning message again, and the "safe search" showed it as safe.

Sometimes I think that "PC security software" generates occasional false warnings so you think it's doing you some good.

Aw, so sorry to hear that, Reid -- but I'm sure you'll find something you like even better! Took a long time before we found our place, and once we did most people wouldn't have thought it much of a "catch," I'm afraid!! It's been almost 25 years since we moved here and it's still a work in progress...

Something better - and sunnier - is out there for you for sure
