I puttered in the garden this morning, pulled a few weeds, then got busy this afternoon and fertilized the front and back lawns, that was a hard job, the areas are large, odd shaped and bumpy from winter frost heave. Sticking tongue out

Was outside in the heat today, doing more weeding and tossing out plants that had died. Fertilized some shrubs and gave the yard a full watering it needed badly.

lt has been raining. It rained off and on Monday, so l was able to weed most of my potted plants between showers. It has rained nearly all day yesterday, so I went through my online photo albums and enjoyed looking at how some of my plants have grown during the last year. And wished l could be outside.
It's now past 1am. I'm going to go to sleep and hope the rain has stopped by the time l wake up.

Beth, your volunteer plant looks like a squash of some sort, zucchini comes to mind form the leaves and blossoms, what shape is the fruit, can't really tell from the photo angle. Shrug!

*tries to remember what I did this morning*

Oh yeah. I planted three Ceratotheca triloba (African Foxglove) and three amaranth in the Notalawn bed. I planted the Euphorbia Diamond Frost and the four pack of spinach, which I got on sale, all in one big container. Planted an aster that had been sitting around in a pot after being moved -- I'd planted three but this one needed a home. Tried using the Hori-Hori to cut drainage holes in some large plastic pots and decided it just isn't sharp enough so set that project aside. Planted some basil grown from seed in the ground in front of tomatoes. Tried to decide what to do with the other tomatoes, and the three bush beans, that still need to be sited, either in the ground or in pots.

Came in and took a nap.

Ah...yeah. The nap part sounds especially good! I tried to take one yesterday, but just as I was drifting off I heard the garbage truck roll in the drive...and no, I hadn't remembered to pull it out there! That was one instantaneous awakening-into-flight moment. Hilarious!

Today I ran into town and bought two more cattle panel sections for tomatoes and beans, and more paracord for the new shade sails. I hope to get the sails up tomorrow, first thing, so the wasps will still be too cold to attack. Sticking tongue out

Did just a bit of weeding around my favorite rose, then had to mow for an hour. The mowing is pretty much a daily thing right now, for any and all days when it's not actively raining. Tonight should be our last frost scare for this go-round, so I'll be planting some things out tomorrow. Things are really starting to pile up while we wait! Also unpacked my shipment from GHS, so now they're in the waiting list as well.

My Jim Little rooted Plumeria Pink Pansy came in the mail today from Blooming Plumerias on Ebay. I will pot it up tomorrow and keep it out of the rains we've been having. I missed being in my yard today.

I did more yard cleanup, got most of my large containers out on the patio and pulled out the dead plants, still have 6 really large ones under the deck, need help with those. Hand watered the back grass to get the fertilizer to soak in. Should have done the front too but I was tired, maybe tomorrow.

We made a trellis out of tree branches for the clematis growing like crazy. Next I have a suction cup bird feeder the birds ignore so put it
to use as a planter.

More weeding today, and a few discoveries.

A dracanea that is old as me died last year when we had a freak frost and I hadn't brought it in until it was too late, or so I thought. The original stem died, and now two new sprouts have been growing!

My Lilac has HUGE blooms this year, my pruning and fertilizing finally let it be the beauty you see.

My hybrid roses from seed are getting flower blooms, excited to see what the results will be!

My cactus from seed are 6 months and have tiny spines, one is getting pink on a bump so looks like a variegated one possibly!

Yesterday, we went to Starbucks and after finishing our coffee, I asked if they have some used coffee grounds..whoa..they gave me about half a sack of used coffee grounds. Had to wait for my hubby to come back with our car so we can bring it home. We were just doing our daily walk, so we did not have our car Hilarious! Hilarious! My compost bin and plants will be very happy!

Great score, Tarev! Woo hoo!

Today I mostly watered, in advance of a heat spike over the weekend.

And experienced gardener's empty nest syndrome when I realized that nearly everything is planted out!

Thumb of 2015-05-15/kylaluaz/b58866
That table was full of seedlings not long ago, *sniff*.

I do still have one jug of heat tolerant lettuce to site somewhere but I've pretty much decided where that goes. And maybe 8 chamomile starts, one of thyme and one of sage, and a little sedum I got from a plant trade via my neighbor. Oh, yeah and the milkweed that's not quite ready to plant, just getting its true leaves.

But that's it! Crying

I'll have to buy some plants I guess. Whistling Hilarious!

I went to pick up some bacopa and a few other annuals at my favorite nursery today...and they were sold out already! Blinking Funny thing about that is, I passed some up when I first stopped at my second favorite nursery. I guess that will teach me. No matter what, stop at the favorite first. Hilarious!
