Nice petunias all of them. For Mother's Day I potted up 3 of the "Easy Wave" purples for who else, but mom. Out of a 6 pack, the other three went in the ground in a bed adjacent to where the pot would end up. The potted plants went into a generic brand fertilized potting mixture and the other 3 into raw, dry garbage soil amended with the same potting mix. The ground-grown plants are thriving, but not excessively so. Nice and healthy, productive. Once the potted plant was worthy of the front porch I put it out and got an insane show but by the time I potted some standard petunias it's grown weaker and weaker. I've been pinching on the Easy Wave but I feels/looks like it needs a trim?
Second time growing the Waves, fairly impressed but plain 'ol petunias always worked. The blacks are really taking off and add a nice contrast. I don't want to start over. I've been gentle on the water, shaded in the afternoon but it gets a good blast of sun and plenty of heat.
I'll add a pic of the purple Waves tomorrow, this was perfection 2 weeks ago:
And yes, the driveway reflector serves a purpose. Mom can't park very well and I need to stuff a 1/2 ton truck between her car and the neighbor's SUV. Glad I can park! LOL!
