The daylily mecca has its own website: http://www.daylilymecca.com/

IN fact, this year, there are two different versions of the Mecca website, giving conflicting information.
My understanding is that there's some squabbling going on between one or two of the hybridizers. I hope they
get their act together before next year.

Petit registered a Mecca daylily in 2012, but 2013's Mecca Madness is not listed on the AHS database.
Last year's Petit gift is registered, but this year's gift is not.

Which is why I'm very curious about this year's Nicole offering. We didn't stop by her place this year because
we (and many others) were treated rather shabbily by her people in 2013 and 2014.

OOO....no wonder I didnt see anything about a plant.

Well I didnt go last year, so I cant speak to that.

It was packed, and everyone, including Nicole was great. As far as tension among hybridizers... whats new Whistling
To bad some didnt enjoy it last year. The only 'people' I saw helping her this year were members of the daylily club. She had them stationed around the garden. She wasnt digging, so no garden workers.

It's not 'tension' among hybridizers, it seems to run much deeper than that, and it's bad PR for them.

In 2013, the website promised a free plant to every visitor. When people arrived at the garden, a rather rude young woman (not Nicole herself) stated flatly that it was one plant per family, and she interpreted family to be any group of people who walked up to the desk together. Several people argued that they were neighbors carpooling, but to no avail. A lot of people were so annoyed they were still talking about it at the next garden.

In 2014, the website promised a free plant to every visitor. This time, it was actually limited to one plant to people who lived at the same address.

We will never, ever deal with Nicole again. Period.

Ummm. we all got a plant. Well... onward and upward.
I thought it was last year she had a church crash the breakfast...wonder if there has been an issue with plants. Well...no matter...rude is rude. I thought that is why she didnt put anything on her website this year for the first time. Party crashers.
