Very true Mary Ann. I always give my daylilies 2 to 3 years so I guess I must do the same with the iris.

On a positive note: It does have very pretty ruffles.

Mine looks better too after it got a few days old. I'll keep it another year and decide.

MEDICI PRINCE looking nice, but I had to stake it. It had 3 huge blooms that weighted it down too much I guess. I have room behind this one for another iris. Any suggestions on what color to pair it with???

Mine is next to the dark purple/black of Coal Seams and they look good together. I have Silverado and My Oh My by it too. These are all later bloomers. Some of the other colors that co-ordinate in this garden are always done blooming when Medici Prince starts.

When Fly Your Colors opened here I thought Ugh, but you know it kind of grows on you and it looks better as it ages some.

I thought so too Tom. I didn't like it either when it first opened.

Leslie, I too thought black would look good with Medici Prince or maybe pink. Hubby said yellow and I said Noooooooo!!!

Thanks Marilyn, I see some possibilities. I would not have thought of an amber color going with it but it sure does.
