I wasn't sure I wanted to start a whole new thread on Crinums.. I got my first, and only, Ellen B, I think, from txflowerchild years ago. And thank you again!
I've had great results tho I do bring something inside every year to be sure. I have one place that's proven good. to let them winter over, but those long leaves don't fit well.
Last fall I wrestled that one out and here's what I've got.

About a seven inch main bulb.
If I take off some or all the pups, How big a pot would this need for the summer? Is that even doable? Maybe a lifted pot that it could root through the bottom for extra moisture but let me be able to take the big bulb inside for winter ? Any advice appreciated.
Plant it and they will come.

Why don't yo leave the big one in the ground, well mulched of course. Pot up the smaller ones and if the big one does not make it you always have spares.

That looks great! I don't have any info about pot growing but I also struggle with placement. My original one makes leaves that are about 4 feet long but they're always bent. I suspect a more sunny spot could cure that but all of my close sunny spots are in the front and they're pretty full.

Sooo hoping it rains regularly this spring, summer. Been waiting so long for a "wow" show of blooms from these. Out of my usual route of stuff that I water with the hose.
