Ken, you're always welcome! (That's from a Misssissippi gal who wound up in Texas years ago!).

Well, I am originally from SE Missouri, but have been in Texas for the last 33 years, so I call myself Texan.

I like all flowers, but have a special interest in all kinds of bulbs. I also like daylilies and succulents. I've lived in East TX, Central TX and now in SE, TX so I've grown a lot of different plants in those 33 years!

@SALL20 have you wandered around the various forums? There are lots of interesting people who grow the plants you have mentioned, including our own, @Esperanza. She likes succulents and makes fabulous pots for them!
We are under another flood warning. While I was cursing the rain up on our hill, downtown Austin was really flooding. Hope it's over soon.

Hello Sall! Welcome. Yes, like Sandi said I do have a thing for succulents. Looking forward to hearing your stories about Texas plant love in your neck of the woods!

@Esperanza. Doing fine here. Got another 2 1/2" of rain without any sides! I know it sounds strange, but I'm happy to get it. It's just really hard for my particular spot to get too much. A combo of soil types and places to drain, I guess. The leon river cuts the place in half and it got up to half full, so I was sorta glad the water gaps hadn't been repaired yet! There was a lot more rain east of my location I think. It's been years since I've seen everything so green. If regular rain stops and all that vegetation dries up, we'll be in fire danger. For this area, I think that is going to inevitable. If not from too long without rain, then when frost kills the growth. Looks like it's going to be a banner year for broom weeds in the area. They burn easily and fast when conditions are right. I hope we keep getting regular rainfall to keep the fire hazard to a minimum and keep things growing.

Yes, of course I'm happy! It's 61.7% now. I've gotten almost 1 3/4" last couple of days, so as long as this goes on, the lake will be a lake again.
Bubbles said:Linda, I noticed Medina Lake is up a little more. That should make you happy!
