And I am pretty sure the AHS images are copyrighted, it says that right on the bottom of each page.

And by the way, images from Davesgarden are also copyrighted so you may want to rethink about using them. Please remove mine from you auction.

I am sorry Sue, I did not realize I was using one of your pictures. Which one is it? I just got windows 8 and I can't get my pictures small enough to fit on the auction . I also thought the AHSWas there to help daylily enthusites, I thought that is where everyone got their pictures from because the picture would be the correct cultivar. I didn't realize everyone was so protective of their pictures. Anyone is welcome to use any of mine. Thanks for the information

AHS is there to help daylily enthusiasts, yes, not to have someone lift the images and use them for profit. Those images are entrusted to them from the hybridizers. They have enough problems with people taking their photos off their websites, it shouldn't happen from the AHS website, with the bold AHS watermark across each image. That is there for the same reason, as part of a copyright. Also at the bottom of every page is says "copyright" with a year.

Under the Federal Copyright Act of 1976, photographs are protected by copyright from the moment of creation.
Unless you have permission from the photographer, you can’t copy, distribute, publicly display, like putting them online.

Most of your listings are using AHS images, except one, the seed one. The image clearly shows the DG copyright in the upper left side along with my user name.

There are plenty of free photo resizing programs, I use Picasa and http://pixlr.com/express/

Even your avatar you're using on this website has the daylilies.org watermark on it.

Like Sue said, you can't just go around and put photos on the internet without permission. Please change your avatar and don't upload photos to ATP (or anywhere else) without explicit permission of the owner.

I realize that you are a new member here on ATP, but it seems as if you only joined to obtain photos and to promote your auction, not to make friends and exchange information.

I am offended on behalf of all the people whose work you have 'borrowed' to use as a tool to make a profit; stealing is wrong.

Hybridizing requires attention to detail...just saying.
I am wondering, if you cannot find your own photo of Fad Gadget and you don't have a clue how to re-size images, how do you expect to be a successful hybridizer? Perhaps your enthusiasm is getting ahead of you? Maybe step back, slow down, read/follow/understand/obey all the rules, and get it right next time.
