I wish we could post our own pictures to our lists so I could followed the maturing of my new interest in Hostas. I now have about 7 new plants and I know I can track them in a blog or in a forum thread or in my own hard drive but it would be nice to put sequential pictures in my lists.

I would be OK if it were limited to 1-2 pictures per year for a specific plant.. to avoid overloading the DB. I just would like to pull up my plant and see it's progress. "A picture is worth a thousand words"- Chinese proverb/Barnard

Well, the way it is now you can add multiple pictures to your plant list, but then when you want to print it out, it becomes a problem. Check out my plant list and look at the rose 'Olympiad', I don't put many in with more than one photo but it is possible.

That might work but in the case of Hosta 'Sagae' I get all the plants from everyone when I go to the DB.

Yes, but you can post your personal photos to the appropriate place in the database, then copy the BB code and add that personal photo to your list, that is how I got my personal two photos of Olympiad in my plant list.

you can try it this way...

go to your profile page and select the link for your images...

http://garden.org/plants/brows...

then, using the drop down menu near the top select 'Hosta' which would bring you to this link...

http://garden.org/plants/brows...

now you can see all the Hosta images that you yourself have uploaded. Hope that helps limit how many you have to sift through to see the ones you are interested in.

I do thank you so much also for seedforks suggestion of using the DB code .. I did not want to have to overload the DB area with all my own pictures but guess that we have to do it to get either method to work.

I'm not sure it was clear from what Larry said -- you can put your own photos in the "notes" section of your plant list using the BB code.

I just learned something new, at least new to me. Thank you for the thread Marilyn, and all the help given by the others here on the thread.
Now off to give it a try.

Once you do it it is pretty easy. Just find the BBcode for the plant in the DB. And then Cut and paste it into your remarks section of your list.
