The poly seedling is totally wild!
Glass Bead Game X Heavenly Pink Fang, love the form and color on this one. The edge is icing on the cake. Thumbs up

Betty...first small flower, EotE X PotC ...oh wow. That one is really maturing nicely. Good luck working toward small and mini's. I've developed a fondness for them, too. They can sure put on a great show in the garden when combined with a bit of height and great branching.

A few normal sdlgs...

This one is a plain jane but for some reason I like the color combination so it has stayed for a few years. Has a nice plant as well.

A pretty pink, sometimes white midribs don't work. In this one I think they are attractive and change what could have been an otherwise hohum pink into something pretty and interesting.

Two pleated ones....first one's color is difficult to photograph, camera adds a bit to much red.

Pretty much a newbie to daylily crossing but here's a couple I set seeds for 2 years ago. Seedling x jennifers jubilee and the reverse cross, first flower on each. Very much enjoy lurking here.

Tracey - Congrats on the blooms of your first seedlings! That first one is very pretty with the green throat/eye and the darker contrasting color. I am sure the bloom will improve as more buds open!

Ed - Racking up those beauties! Great hybridizing work you are doing!

Char - I love that "pretty pink" bloom! All are quite lovely!!!

Cindy - What can I say? I always enjoy looking at what you are creating with your crosses! I really, really like your SARAH'S TRUE COLORS X TECHNY PEACH LACE seedling. Those blooms look like they are on the large size?

Betty - You go girl!!! Look at all your stunning blooms! I can't even pick a favorite because I like every one of those!

Sandi - Your photo of the seedling poly is awesome!!! Wow! Any idea what the parents of this seedling might be? Looks like a really interesting cross!

Yes Becky, they are large and on a tall scape but once again low bud count. I think I am going to give that one to my daughter to try. I have given her seedlings before and they seem to like her soil and do terrific. I gave her a spider seedling about 3 years ago and this year it had over 30 buds per scape. She now wants me to register it for her.

Cindy - Yes, I agree that many daylilies can grow and bloom differently depending on location. (I see that in my own little yard.) Any chance of posting a photo of the spider seedling that your daughter is having success with and wanting you to register? Maybe you should name it after her!?

I thought Dave has this website set-up to automatically resize very large photos, especially when you click on the photo in a post? I hope you are able to get it posted. I would love to see it! Thumbs up

You guys do nice work over here. Kind of neat to see what you come up with.

This seedling has been looking like this for the last couple days. Of course it is putting on some size compared to the younger bud next to it. Is it sometimes normal for them to look half opened while developing?

Yes, that is normal. It seems to take forever for some buds to develop and open fully.
