LOL! I've given all my acorns away, not anticipating anything I would need. I'll have to go out right now and see what I can add to the database.....

One of the many new Salvia microphylla varieties we are growing this year. This one is a keeper - a seedling from 'Orchid Glow'. These flowers are almost 1 1/2 inches across! And this is the most accurate color I have ever been able to capture. A compact grower as well.

This is my first year to grow salvia's. I am noticing lately because of these unusual rainy weather, my salvia subrotunda is drooping. It seemed happier in winter when it was dry, cool and sunny. But with these rains..it just hates it. I am growing this one in a container. Is this normal for salvia subrontunda?

Comparing it to my salvia iodantha, this one is thriving much better, not drooping at all.

My subrotundas are not drooping, but you are getting more rain than I and mine are not in a spot to get beaten down if that's what's happening to yours. Mine are in part shade.

Hopefully it perks up tomorrow. We are getting such a windy rainy wallop today. I like seeing the rain...need it badly, yes, I just do not like howling winds.

tarev are you in No. Cal or the central valley? (your 2 zones confused me!) It is amazing how strong the winds are right now!

My zones confuse me too Big Grin ..our area is considered part of Central Valley Big Grin Yeah the winds are awfully strong here too! Early this morning had to turn some containers up after being knocked down, luckily the plants are pot bound enough not to come out.

Lovely blooms Lovey dubby

It has been windy earlier here, then got these thick dark clouds rolling over, but luckily did not rain nor any hail..but it did make some hail in Lodi. We might get the rains later tonight again though. Rolling my eyes.

I had already placed my order with you this year. I don't remember the shipping week right now, but I would love to get that one. I will have to remember that Salvia next time I place an order with you! Lovey dubby Thumbs up

I am so happy that you note if a Salvia can be grown in container on your website.

Thanks!

My Salvia subrotunda is having a hard time surviving! Almost so dead looking now..but it tries to send out a new stem, then begins to dry out again. So confused with this plant. Confused Rolling my eyes. I am beginning to think it hates the weather when it gets too warm even if it is in a part sun/shade area already..I have removed the dead foliage..hoping it will come back once more....on the good side, it did play host to some ladybugs a few weeks ago.

Put it in the shade......it will be happier and it definitely needs it now to maybe recover.
