Thread OP

Two summers ago I bought a couple of sale jackmani clematis. They have done well and have helped provide shade to the shed doing a fairly good job of covering three sides in foliage and blooms. image.jpg The jackmani is almost finished blooming due to our pretty extreme heat this summer.

Then surprise a section began blooming with a different bloom. I had not seen this bloom on either of the plants prior to this year but am not complaining. I had never seen a clematis like this one but I am pretty limited in knowledge of plants since I only buy if they are on sale or free;). Knowlegdable Stewbies, any ideas to the variety?

Sorry, no idea but it isn't unusual for Jackmanii to sport new clematises. Ours has given us one pink and one lavender. Since they all grow together, to cover an old tree stump, they'll remain where they are.
