Dave, I would really love a feature where each of us could keep a daily log of rainfall at our house. I know so many of us have rain gauges. I can say that at my house the rainfall amount is always vastly different than what is recorded on any online sites for that info. I might record an inch at my house while down the road 2 miles only got a trace of rain.
This log could be cumulative -- adding up the totals for each week, month & year.

Is this doable? Wait a minute. I'm talking to Dave. Of course this is doable for SuperDave.

Anyway, what does everyone think about this? Would you find it beneficial?

Ann I like that idea. I am a voluntary rain logger for the University of Arizona here. Every day those of us that do this turn in a total to them. The official rain total is measured at the Airport here and many of us jokingly have said for years, that no one lives at the airport. This way we can see truly what all areas of town are receiving. We receive a monthly report from the U of A as well detailing the weather of the past month.

I like the idea. We keep track of the rainfall on the calendar, but of course the past years' data is lost.

One more thing, to throw a monkeywrench in everything, if there are totals, I want my total to go from July to June. That is a rain year here because the rainy season and related storms are December to March. December 2015 needs to stay with January 2016. Do you get it?

Seems like that would be easy to have the user choose. Maybe a drop down box "My rain year is ____ to ____."

That's a great idea, flaflwrgrl! I too, get such different rain amounts from those around us. I write it in my daily planner. This I use more for diary of day's happenings, rather than planning anything ahead. But it would be nice to see a year's accumulation.
