Yes, I agree about Viva Italia. I grow it every year and I really like it.

I think you mean that Determinates are best for containers?

Good catch, Rita -- I should have typed "determinates," not "Indeterminates" *Blush*

Just remember that many people are successful on 5 gallon buckets. You will see those at the big box stores. They drill drainage holes and plant. But really bigger is better. And mostly your yield of fruit will never be as much in a container as in the ground.

I think the two of mine were that tall when I finally cut them off. I didn't want foliage, I wanted fruit! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

As someone who doesn't know what they're doing, I claim ignorance! As they are still producing, I obviously didn't hurt them any. Whistling It very well could've been beginners luck though. Shrug!

Well here's the thing. You never trim Determinates. But on the Indeterminates some people trim the suckers and some people don't. Personally I don't. I know you don't want to grow foliage but that new foliage puts out new blossoms which in turn because more fruit.

It was so hot here, blossoms were a thing of the past. Thanks for the warning about never cutting determinants. Good to know and something I will keep in mind. I didn't cut anything from my tomatoes until around the second week in September.
