Sorry Mayo I was talking about ATP database. Thanks Sooby for clarifying it!!!!
Citrina seems to be very tall and I don't want so tall DLs because of the organization of the garden. But I have difficulties in finding other nocturnals in EU.
Char that's a lovely bloom, many thanks! Here no critters since we are no in the open air, even if mountains and woods are really near. For what I know there are no strangers visitors apart the neighbour's cat who loves to pee on my black calla lyly. UGH!!

I bought Notify Ground Crew this year, the stalks got to 35".
The blooms opened at about 6pm, the next morning they were almost shriveled up!
The blooms didn't last no time.
Most of the time I didn't even get to hybridize with it because I waited until the next morning.
I finally learned to put the pollen on it in the evening.
I was kind of disappointed with it because the blooms didn't last...

I don't have a porch right now, when I'll have one I'll sure buy some nocturnal!
Speaking about dreams and nightmare, I decided to open a new blog all dedicated to DLs. I will use and translate informations found on here and on AHS, obviously naming the source. Here informations are so few. I really don't know if I'll have the time for the blog, but I thought itw would be nice and a sort of diary for my learning and experience. Now comes autumn and I'll have to go back making candles, keeping the site updated, taking photos, and find some new customers. But I guess in cold season I have less to write about DLs.

Mayo I read you can use beer, it seems they like it a lot. You put beer in small and flat containers so they crawl into them. Or you can use salt on them. They .. melt... in salt and in beer.
Since it's raining here too I have to check outside too.

yes, I'm already using beer.... litres of it!

I bought the cheapest lager I could get and the slugs are not impressed... Confused
Perhaps I have to switch back to a better brand, last time I used Heineken and that did the trick Whistling

I have had really good luck using a pump sprayer and a mixture of ammonia and water, mix with a ratio around 1 to 12, or 1 to 8. I has not harmed my plants (I read it actually is suppose to add a small amount of nitrogen). It seems to just melt the slugs away. I like to spray the plants really well and the ground at the base of the plants also to kill the slug eggs.
It would be a good idea to mix up a batch and just try it on a single plant, make sure you have the mixture strong enough to instantly kill any slugs it contacts, but not strong enough to harm the plant. When you feel safe with your mixture then spray all of the plants and the area they are in.
I had lots of snails and slugs in the early spring and I used this mixture first on my hostas to control the pests, then when I saw how well it worked on the hostas I noticed the daylilies were becoming slug food, so I started using it on them. I would go out in the early mornings or late afternoons, or right after a rain, anytime I thought the slugs were active and crawling around on the plants. Then I would spray any snails or slugs and watch them melt away.
After the early spring wet weather was over I had less and less slugs and have not sprayed for them at all for several months now.

I like the green or yellow ammonia because it allows me to know it is not just water in the sprayer. Of course the odor would also be a clue it was not just plain water, but I can see though my plastic tank on my sprayer so I know right off which one it is (I use three different sprayers for different jobs).
