UndertheSun said:Once the fence was broken into, I think everything got in. Deer, wild turkeys, ground and tree squirrels, raccoons, possums and any other critter that came along. All season long I have only been able to harvest about a handful of tomatoes. I was waiting patiently as the plants reloaded themselves with tomatoes after the last critter attacks.

Now I'll have to go to the farmer's market for what I hope are fresh and pesticide free tomatoes. Glare

How sad to hear this! I hope the tomatoes you buy are as good as the
ones you grew!

I looked out the window, this morning....rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, and planning my day, and, there in one of the iris bed.......a "tree rat"....chewing on "something".....holding it in his little ,hairy paws, and turning it around like a kid with an ear of corn! Sure enough, the fuzzy little thing had yanked up an iris rhizome, then planted a black walnut ,in it's place.....and, I suppose to spite me, for hauling so many of his buddies away, had chewed up the rhizome Grumbling ! I replanted the rhizome.......and moved the live trap a little closer to that bed Sticking tongue out .......he'll be back tomorrow, to plant another walnut, I'll bet Whistling

Luckily I have not had any problems with anything eating my plants/flowers. I have ground squirrels, rabbits, and one or two others that come out, but no problems. I live in the desert and theres all kinds. Luckily with the marine base near by I have never seen this critter.
