The Digiplexus must like your cooler weather. My in ground one keep putting out small spikes, but the potted one just sits there attracting mealies. My Echiums both succumbed to the heat.
I suppose I am forever doomed to have no crape myrtle....it does not do well here, but my Dad had an absolutely gorgeous old crape myrtle just at the front of the house, next to what used to be called a 'picture window". I somehow don't think they're called that any longer.....

Will it make it here?...dunno, Bex said she's not been able to keep it going on her property 45 miles from here...I could not keep it thriving in FB even and it should have been planted on a mound here, but I'm running short on energy and patience lately, so...we'll see how it goes...have to try...cuz it's, well, you know...Lion's Ear and I love that orange....

Mine in FB would get large and do really well for about a year, then decline. Climate / conditions here is different, yours also, so we'll see what happens...

I knew I had a salvia that had popped up in a pot of dodonea, but didn't know whiich, looks like its s. coccinea.....
J.J.....he apparently used to live here and they moved away and left him, now he's neighbor Angie's cat, one of her many, but now he's spending a lot of time back here again....

Yes, the front border is looking nice. Have you ever looked at the catalogue or web site for High Country Gardens? I think you'd like that, Sherry. They're your style, with grasses and salvias and such. A lot of their plants are for dry-ish climates so I'm not suggesting you buy from them, but I think you'd like the photos.
I love High Country Gardens...and Santa Rosa Gardens...just not big on mail ordering small plants for higher prices and shipping costs. You know...... in SoCal or zuzu's home turf where there are a lot of great nurseries and we could get gallon sizes for the same price, why pay more for mail order? I've reached the point now whith a small yard and limited nurseries that it does help to rein me in some...I can fill in a lot with seed grown plants now, there are a lot of perennials I want....and the nursery in McKinleyville carries Annie's stuff....sure there are tons more plants that I want, but it's foolish given the number of plants I have still sitting here in pots.

I seem to fall prey to Santa Rosa Gardens plants this time of year - between the fall sale prices, the 25% off coupon, the fact that they deliver when you want & the fact that I've only ever lost one plant of their's, after planting... I've got an order coming mid-October!
