Now that the boyfriend has moved along, this longhorn beetle is actually pollinating instead of propagating. Still laughing about that one!

Another pollinator, though not a butterfly or a bee. Some type of wasp, but just lovely. Seems to really be enjoying the tiny blooms on the Texas Vervain (Verbena Halei).

I like those thread-waisted wasps--fascinating!
I only ever see them on the little tiny flowers--they must have short tongues.

and yes, it is so very affirming that you don't need a pair of perfect wings to fly!
