Lynn I noticed you asked Chris if this plant is winter dormant and I did not see an answer. Did it go dormant last winter?

It did not go dormant for me. But I am in zone 8. Neither does 'Lime Zinger'.

Here are some of my Sedums with Petunias from last year. These were just cuttings. I like the Purlpe and gray tones together.

That is striking and very pleasing to look at Clint. You have a real gift for putting plants together.

Thanks. I buy every Sedum I see lately. They are the toughest plants.

I have finally given up on growing 'Chocolate Ball'. I have failed to keep it alive and healthy three times now. All the others are tough plants and I love them all.

That one likes cooler locations I believe. I had to plant it in partial shade here or where it only gets morning sun. The ones in full sun always died here.

That is a really pretty combo Clint.

I will give chocolate ball again if I find it. When it is not offered online and in the nurseries I think that tells you it is not a strong plant.

Thanks Lynn for the info about going dormant. Lime Zinger went dormant for me. But it also only lived 2 yrs. I would buy it again because I planted it in the driveway sedum bed and I am finding I need really tough sedum for that bed. I will only put old time tried and true sedum there now. These newly developed sedum are weaker than the old guys I am discovering.

Okay Clint, I may give it one more try. You have never steered me wrong. Do you find that it takes more water than most sedum?

Cinta my 'Lime Zinger' is going on it's second year and is a robust large colony from a plug last spring. But it only gets first have day sun, then bright light the rest of the day.

Yes. It needs more water for me here. I think it's just a little more picky about location mainly.

Well it is dead. When I received the order I put them all in the shade but this one was just to small to survive probably after they pulled this little plug out of the pack and shoved it in a 3" pot of soil and put it in a box and shipped. Too much for the poor baby.

I will see if my local nursery get it and will buy a better plant.

Clint that does look great I like the idea of annuals mixed with sedum!
Cinta - man that looks terrible, I'd contact the folks you bought it from especially since you have a pic! Lynn is probably right that it'll come back but it is still wrong to send something looking so poorly! Thumbs down

I have found many of my sedum prefer mixed shade rather than full sun! I have most in pots and that may make them more susceptible to drying out and hot sun (I'm talking about the groundcover types not the tall types)
I tip my hat to you.

Thank you Lynn, Greg. I did send them a email with the pic. They did not offer to replace they just credited my card. This is the reason I do not order online unless I really, really cannot wait to find it locally.. Usually the cost and what you receive for the cost is not worth having the plant.

I do think it'll bounce back but now you have a wait time while that happens. Good luck Cinta

I wonder if it would help to trim off the outer growth that looks the worst so the roots aren't working as hard to support the plant. You can also then try to root the cuttings. Just a thought when I looked at the photo.

Don't give up on that plant, looks like it just was not packed well. My guess in to weeks it will look perfect. These are tough little plants. It will come up from the bottom.

It is looking worst today. It felt limp when I received it and over night it looked like the pic. I think they pulled that plug out of the packet and broke the little roots it might have had.

Cinta said:I hope @eristeblastosis found one.

I received mine from Santa Rosa today. They must have had a lot of orders for it because they were in such a hurry to send it out they just threw what was very obvious a plug in a 3" pot and put a little bit of soil on top. I could see the little plug soil shape. I put it on the patio and will baby it so it gets strong to put in the garden. I am being safe this year because the deer and groundhogs really love some of the sedum. Some they do not touch others are eaten to the ground.

Sorry dear Cinta. I couldnt find for order a one. Also im searching for lime twister. Also i wrote Turkeys succulent and plant sellers. Im waiting too.. thnks.

Awww @eristeblastosis I guess now we will both be on the hunt. I will not order it again. I will pick it up if I find it local. The reason I do not like to order is because to many times yo get a weak plug for a high full price plant cost then add our high shipping cost. It just is not worth the trouble.
