I planted three varieties of Milkweeds for the Monarchs several years ago. I recently saw one or two of this year's swarm of Monarchs on the Abelia just outside a front window. Always gives me a bit of a thrill. Smiling
I garden for the pollinators.

Great podcast about the Monarch Butterfly!

It's so sad about the loss of the Monarch's and I truly agree that we as gardeners need to start planting more host plants (Milkweed) for these beautiful Butterflies that are declining at drastic rates.

LOL, yep Passiflora is a host plant for the beautiful Gulf Fritillary Butterfly!

I just ordered Asclepias tuberosa plants from Santa Rosa gardens on clearance for only $3.99 each. Free of neonics too! They only have 6 left so if anyone wants them you best hurry before they're all gone. Also there are coupon codes for Santa Rosa that are applicable even to the clearance prices. Here's the link from the Garden Deals forum:

You will love their stuff. First rate. And some of the best packaging I have seen. Purchased from them 3 times. They have a late season sale on everything BTW - prob in a month or so.

This is my second time ordering from them & I was delighted with the first time so I'm sure this order will be as great as the last.

I've ordered from Santa Rosa Gardens a couple of times too and will be ordering again in the spring. They are A+ in my book for healthy plants as well as great packing and fast shipping!
