Yes, I agree a red...not a bright red but more a burnt red, rust red, a mature wise red, like the plant! But this may not be as neutral against all that is around you.

My thing with black is that it is such a sophisticated grounded color but if you put a plant in it that needs sun, the black pot will get awfully heated even to the touch.

That is the kind of red I was thinking Bev. I could actually picture that in my mind with the plant growing in it.

WOW that is a PLANT!!!!! Hilarious! Hilarious!

I agree rosy red to match the bloom or to give it some color when it is not in bloom. Although that is such a plant that commands attention I do not think you can pick a bad color pot to display that plant.

I agree Thank you all. I like a red color, too. Group hug

I'll have to wait for spring now. Sad I don't think I should disturb it this late in the year. Sighing!

Remember the color debate Well now it is a non issue!!!!

Oh the joys of living on a hill. I knew I could not move this with all the soil. So started pitching soil into a wheelbarrow. Great plan, well 2 times the wheelbarrow tipped over while get the soil out. Grumbling So I got part of it out and placed the container near the edge of the wall. Walked around to lift off the wall and it came down too hard. Not strong enough!!!!
Thumb of 2015-10-19/springcolor/4141ea

The project will just have to wait for spring. I think I will move these 2 large brown containers down there. Better scale anyway. Have to unload the plants and most of the soil to move them. I will paint the other container. So sad to loose that big container.

Bev, that's true, I'm still in one piece.
Lynn, I did do a bit of shopping the other day. Whistling I was just looking forward to making these look new again. Thank You! about the plants but an older picture. I took cuttings of all my coleus a few weeks ago and have been pulling any annuals. I just hate to try and pull slim after it freezes. Thumbs down

Yes, pulling/cleaning container plants is not fun once they turn to mush.
Can we see photos of your new acquisitions? Hurray!

Love, love, love that sedum in the boot. Is it palmerii or confusum? Or a different one?
What cool containers the square ones are. What are they made of?
The shoes are very cute and will look awesome with semps. Hurray!

Thank You! The sedum is palmerii. Not sure what the square ones are make out of but they look like pottery but 1/2 the weight. That boot is pottery and so heavy. Always looking for containers that are nice looking but light weight. The brown boot doesn't qualify but loved it so I made an exception. Been looking at that boot for a few years before I bought it..
