I'm not even sure I understand what David means by "sidebar thingy". And I have to say that I'm not a fan of a bunch of *stickies*, but if a majority of members want something changed there are always ways to work things out.

Are you aware that you can use the stars to bookmark a thread or comment?

Several forums use the right sidebar thingy. :-)
Here is one example:

One of the forums has FAQs and Stickies in the right sidebar. Will try to find it.

It removes the clutter of stickies at the top.

The sticky had some of these links, but I added yet another post onto the end of it duplicating all or most of the links in this t6hread.

I agree with usually not liking sticky threads. They hog the top spot in the thread listings, yet are NOT really compact resources.

Those sidebar links look handy, but it would be nice to bundle together multiple things into one link. Maybe compose an ATP article and then link to it?

I don't think it's very attractive. I find pictures far more pleasing to the eye. The entire rest of the page is text...

A Sticky if really necessary
A FAQ maybe old, but often not outdated when newbies ask the same ? over and over and over.
An Excellent Resources post with simply names and links.

This seems fairly simple and straight forward and no Stickys hogging up the most valuable space.
