For those of you who grow Hoya plants indoors ... be aware that some Hoya blooms do indeed drip lots of sticky nectar so you might want to protect any furniture that your plants may be hanging over.

This is an old photo of my H. brevialata with a little Anole Lizard heading for a bead of nectar ... those little lizards loved the nectar of hoya blooms.

Thumbs up I have three hoyas now (thanks to the not-a-raffle raffle!), and had another in the past. I don't know a lot about them, and would love to have a designated place to go with questions and pictures!

I just bought a Hoya at my local nursery yesterday. There was no tag on it and they didn't even know what it was. I had to tell them it was a varigated Hoya. I asked them to see if their supplier had supplied a name. No such luck.

I believe this is Hoya Carnosa – Crimson Queen.

I could be wrong. Shrug! Smiling

Patti, it does indeed appear to be Krimson Queen Hoya (Hoya carnosa 'Tricolor') and what a lovely plant!

Thank you so much. I felt very fortunate when I found this one.

In the 1980s, I had a varigated Hindu Rope, which I absolutely loved. It had stems that trailed approximately 6 feet and was a very heavy bloomer. Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby I lost it in a move. Crying

I have been looking for a varigated Hindu Rope locally for about the past five years. I haven't had any luck to date, but I will keep looking. Finding this plant gave me hope!

Now if I can just figure out someway to keep the cats away from it. Hilarious!

I adore hoyas and they are just about the only houseplant I will have. By the way, does anyone know where I could buy a hoya rubida 1722. SRQ hoyas no longer sells.

Isn't that sad? I have several hoyas still from SRQ and I wish she was still selling because I have three very healthy hoyas from her despite me doing just about everything wrong that I could with them. (I cut the cuttings in half when I received them, I planted a couple upside-down by accident, and sometimes I am really bad about regularly watering them.) She had such a nice variety, too. I'm afraid that I haven't really purchased hoyas (maybe one other?) since she stopped selling hers.

These guys are out of stock of their Hoya rubida, but maybe they might know how to come across what you're looking for?: http://www.knghoyas.com/For-sa...
Or this person?: https://www.rare-hoyas.com/Cat...

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the information. I will definitely check them out. I have several from SRQ hoyas and they were always good healthy plants. Still have them all except for the rubida. Sad

I love Hoyas and DIschidias. It would be cool if they had their own place.

Well they do have their own forum, I guess I had forgotten because, like the unused aroid forum, which should be heavily utilized if you go by how many people talk about aroids on Houseplants and on Ask a Question (and less often in Tropicals) no one goes there. If people start posting on the Hoya forum, maybe we can get the thing to be more popular.

I love hoyas but I'm a serial killer when it gets right down to it. And I'd be happy to help anyone who can't bear to do that for themselves.

So anyway, thought if you still needed another 'yes' vote, I'd throw one in.🙋🏻‍♀️

Gina - I think new members almost always use AAQ because they're unfamiliar with our wonderful website. I've actually used it more than I probably should because I'm lazy it's there or I'm confused and don't know the appropriate place to ask. (true confessions)
