@jon I really liked Collaboration too! If the flowers had only hung up I would have kept it. But with my very limited space it just wasn't worth it. It must love your hot weather! I did make some nice crosses with it so hopefully I can get a similar look but with flowers that can tolerate my weather conditions.

Charley I would have sent that box back. I would have solved the (mystery) by also naming the seller, especially if they didn't answer or returned your calls. I would be FUMING!!!!! Curious, did you got reimbursed for sending that package forward.
My regret was Royal Celebration. I packed up your highness and sent him elsewhere.

I agree That is totally unacceptable from a seller. I'd be fuming, too! Grumbling

I mixed up two boxes this year and sent them to the wrong folks. They were nice and sent them to the place they should have been. I paid for the postage and gave each a refund on the price of their plants since they would had gone through double shipping and were not in the condition I would have wanted to recieve myself. I thought that was only fair. It was my mistake.

Chicago Arnie's Choice is a beautiful and prolific grower. Unfortunately, it's dying blooms are big sloppy blobs that detract from the whole plant.I hate to have to deadhead every day.

a DL I'm really not happy with is Dragon Dreams...

Bought it, planted it and it just doesn't do anything for me Shrug!
Doesn't grow, doesn't multiply, doesn't bloom Thumbs down

So... end of this season it's going to be 86'd (yes, I paid attention nodding ) from my home garden and to my allotment. There I have enough space to let it try for another couple of years Rolling my eyes.

I'm surprised Mayo. Dragon Dreams does well for me, although it is not a super fast grower.

I just bought it this spring, mail order. It settled in well and is going to bloom. My double fan is now four fans. I hope it goes through the winter OK.

I am sorry it isn't doing well for you, Mayo, but glad to hear you have had success with it, Cindy.

The jury is still out on whether or not I am going to like the "end result" of the hybrids I purchased this year from obviously "enhanced" pictures! I'll know better next time. Some are improving with each bloom, some are still iffy Grumbling However, several years ago I purchased several Stella de Oro's for a landscaping design. Then I went to a daylily farm and had a ball picking new fun colors - I had NO idea there were so many! Since half of Iowa has Stellas I couldn't give them away! Then we moved to the other side of town, I intentionally didn't take any Stellas with me (our new place had basically VERY little landscaping), I divided and took over 300 perennials (mostly daylilies) with me, and lo and behold, the only flowers that were at the new place were Stellas and a taller version of the exact same color! Needless to say I am TOTALLY revamping the new area and having a ball doing it!!! Smiling

Thank You! If anyone knows of any daylilies that "actually have" a combination of white, cream or yellow, with strong purples and green throats, I would love to know their names so I can look them up. The ones I ordered had more wine colors as opposed to the purples shown and the throats were more yellow as opposed to green. Crying I am working on some color combinations with other shrubs and perennials that those colors would look amazing with! Any help would be appreciated!

I too love daylilies with a green throat. However, a lot of my daylilies that I have ordered show a nice green throat in the pictures I see when I ordered them and will usually have the green throat 'that year' they were planted. But following years the green disappears and becomes yellow. I've heard that they need a lot of rain to reach their color potential but I'm sure it's something in the soil too that is responsible for the lack of green. Does anyone out there know if there is a magic additive that enhances color?

That's a good question, Sue! I've wondered the same thing myself concerning the green throats. Thumbs up

Don't know if it fits your description as the cream colouring is an 'eye', but I was pleased with the colour of DOGE OF VENICE as it really was violet purple and not reddish. It hasn't bloomed since I moved and it got rust. But it is now recovering well from the blast furnace weather we had. But one of my favourites is MOKAN BUTTERFLY which actually is near white. The pattern is not a dark strong purple but I love it and will definitely replace it I lost it in the move.

I also thought of Mokan Butterfly. It is a creamy yellow with a purple throat. Here is a pic of mine.

My Jungle Beauty is listed yellow green throat. Opens up vibrant green in the morning and heat/sun turns very yellow.

To me both throats look green. These pictures are from this morning, I know pretty soon Jungle Beauty will be bright yellow. Will check later on Daring Deception. It is in a different bed. In the plant world green has yellow in it. Green leaves yellow. Age, heat, and sun.
May you be blessed with a wonderful day!

@Legalily I did not know if you knew but on your last picture by the spiderwort on the right, there is stink horn. The picture with the fire pit. The sooner you get it out the better it will spread and come back every year. The best way to deal with it is take plastic bags, use a shovel dig up area and below, throw dirt and mulch away. Wash shovel with bleach solution. Spray bleach solution where you removed it from. If you pour bleach solution on you risk having the spores go airborne.
Many blessings to all!

Your fire pit area looks like a wonderful place to hang out! Your plants are all flourishing. Good Job!
