Francine, google is also your friend... I found several options by searching "how to use windshield wipers on Volkswagon" -- just add your vehicle model and year to that search.

Who can tell me what this plant is? My sister planted it in her yard and can't remember what it is.

Pulmonaria for sure. There are several cultivars that look similar, hard to say unless you have them side by side for comparison.

How many ways can you say gorgeous? That's what yesterday and today are!
I am taking my plumeria pot outside today to my warmest corner to start. We may flirt with 48 degrees a few more times, but this corner gets first sun thru mid day and should be safely above 50. Brugs have been there for a week.
Plant it and they will come.

I worked outside yesterday - still raking out accumulated fall leaves, but also planting new acquisitions. I was out there for about 9 hours. Finally, good weather! Had a bunch of errands to run this morning, but I'm going to be gardening the rest of the day.

I have been making use of my hammock but I really should be cleaning up the beds, I have made a list of what I need to do. I will lose the list as quickly as possible, lol.

Robin, I walked by my hammock several times, eyed it, was Soooo tempted, but I keep continuing on with planting. Taking it slow and trying to move from garden to garden as the sun moves throughout the afternoon to keep in the shade - huge difference when working in the shade vs working in the sun! If I were you, I'd go ahead and lose that list as soon as possible Green Grin!

Today was a good day to be retired. I woke up this morning with a minor headache. The plan was to do the grocery shopping and then work in the yard for several hours. I took the obligatory benadryl and headed out the door. The car has a bright green color going on... the oak trees are doing their annual "Let's coat the world in pollen!" thing.

By the time I got home, the minor headache was a full blown migraine. Since I had the option, I went back to bed. After a few hours in the dark, occasionally drifting off to sleep, the headache was almost gone.

Had I been working, it would have been a totally bad day.

Score 1 for retirement and having the option to go to bed whenever I want/need to!

I finished planting the new perennial/small shrub acquisitions yesterday. Did a tally last night - 109 plants in what amounted to 4 dedicated gardening planting days over the last 2 weeks. Blog post with details if anyone is interested:

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...
