Hi Jo Ann - This is a great combination. I love the way the flower forms of the iris and clematis columbine look together and that sage in the background picks up the color of the clematis columbine. Ever since I discovered that Color Echoes thread, I'm noticing those kinds of things so much more now. This combo is my favorite color palette too Smiling

Thanks Terri
I do as much echoing as possible
Alas over time as plants disappear the echoing gets harder as room for new plants gets scarce.

Ditto that. I knew what you meant.
I had cataract surgery Dec 5. The other eye gets done Tuesday. All vision is thru a blurr. Typing and reading are hard.
Someday we will compare old age revelations.I still cant get used to the idea things have changed and I cant go back to vigor and stamina. Really a bummer.
I wonder if Tasha Tudor had help weeding.

Hope all goes well with the cataract surgery. I had cataracts removed from both eyes two years ago - diabetes related. I discovered the book Tasha Tudor's Garden several years ago, and was hooked. Nice narrative by Tovah Martin and beautiful photos by Richard Brown. Have read and reread that book multiple times every year since. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. What a wonderful cottage garden she made. The photos show all aspects of the gardens throughout the seasons, but the video gives it motion. Thanks so much for sharing that link.

Did you grow those columbines from seed or did you start out with plants?

I bought plants from Bluestone. Black Barlows are hard to keep here. All my clementine type columbines are petering out.
