I love lupines! But they don't love me. Crying I think I only have 2 that made it out of the 20 I planted this summer.

Great photos. Schreiner's have lovely gardens. I too wish I could do lupine and other companions as well as they do.

Your unlabelled red - I would bet it is Grateful Red from the form and the slight purple flash on the falls. And it is a Schreiner iris.....

I enjoyed seeing your pictures, and especially the expressions on your kid's faces. Precious!

I've got Lupines in the garden, but they bloom long after the Iris here, so not a good pairing.. I enjoyed seeing some of the other plants in their garden. I've got a gunnera growing in a container in the pond, but it's never looked as good as the one in your picture. I grew Delphiniums for my daughter's wedding, but they are really needy plants (water, fertilizer, staking). I should be living in Oregon to grow all the things that I love, but struggle with here.

I have got to ask -- do you know the name of the Iris in the extreme foreground of the picture of Daring Deception? It's a glorious yellow with lines on the falls. Sooooooo beautiful!!! Lovey dubby

It looks a lot like Insaniac to me.

hmmmm -- I'm not sure, Tom. The photos in the database show a lot more red in the falls than that photo. You have this Iris, right? Does yours typically bloom with more red like the photos in the database, or more yellow like the picture at Schreiners here?

My kids have no interest in returning this year or going to any of the other Iris Farms in Salem. They will just have to make do with my garden. The kids can think I spend to much time working on it in the summer.
