The weird "clearance" pricing structure @ L's caused me to forego getting a lot of clearance plants when I was yesterday. If I'm remembering right, original prices of $5-9 are $4 on clearance. So the piles of plants marked I wanted marked $5.99 were not a good deal for that. This makes no sense because the less expensive and more expensive plants are still half off.
I don't have a dime to gamble on questionable looking plants because I had to spend over $60 to get a decent 100 foot hose. Ironically, it's not 100 feet because it does not reach to where the last 100 ft hose reached. No, I haven't got bored enough to measure it. Maybe the replaced hose was over 100 feet, but that's not a very believable theory.
Shrinkflation is what it is, if correctly labeled. Maybe everybody else just "knows" a 100 foot hose is now 94 feet? If that's a form of shrinkflation, things are going to get very complicated. I already knew that their "12 inch pavers that are 2" high" are 11.7 inches and 1.7" high. Why they are allowed to do that is a mystery to me.
I did get a hanging pot of very vigorous strawberry Begonia for half off, which felt like the reg price from 5'ish or so years ago. And a couple of smaller plants originally $2 on clearance for $1.
