A fine, solid, slow-growing, deer-proof addition to the shade that also provides winter interest. It's a great foundation shrub, that asks for very little. An additional plus is that no pollinator is needed for it to berry. Here it gets about 3 hours of decent, dappled sun, and is doing fine. Well worth trying.

Glade you put this on here, I did not know that there was a self pollinator version of this plant.

It's also deer resistant, which here is a big plus.

I went to the database and it looks like an interesting plant. How big does it get?

Eventually it can get to be 5' x 5' but that will take many years. It has a very slow growth rate -- just a few inches a year. I'd love for it to take off, but that's not going to happen. Meanwhile it's a nice small evergreen.
