I think Leslie wins, and has been awarded two acorns. Greg and Tom each received an acorn.

How about only using one hybridizer's iris?

Ben Hager. And you can use any of his introduced by Rick Ernst.
The best I could do was two.

Maybe I should start with one of the big three-Blyth, Keppel and Ghio

Carl - I think the big three would be the easiest to create links with, but one at a time? Or all three at once?

Keppel:

His are hard to do because so many have only one word names!

I guess all three at once since Leslie says Keppel is too hard.

Same with Ghio's.. I think they take it as a challenge to come up with just one word.

I tried doing it with just irises I had, but it didn't go very far.

Here's another variation.
Go from Jewel Baby to Joy Boy in eight steps using only SDB names.

Okay - I like that challenge. No more than 8 steps?

I did it in 8 steps. I know it can be done. Probably it will be fairly easy as some only have a couple of options. I could do it like the game 'Word Up & Down' and give clues at each step.

I have figured out that some have few options. Just haven't had time to work on it tonight. Don't give out the answer yet!

Well, I came up with a solution, but it can't be right because right in the middle is a one word name Gemstar but there are three before and three after. Am I way off base?

I had eight names. The first was Jewel Baby and the last was Joy Boy. If the one before Gemstar ended with Gem and the one after begins with Star I guess I could accept that.
