Summer Stars of My 'Dog Days' Garden

The move from California to Tennessee brought with it a change in plant selections and gardening techniques. What grows well there frequently does not grow here at all. The most prominent plant diseases and pests in the two locations can also differ quite markedly. Starting over has been a real challenge.

I really appreciate your article, Tee. Being as tenacious and experienced as you are I'm sure you'll bring your new TN garden to a beautiful, manageable state.

I can relate and I think people who live in the mobile culture can too. I'm from San Francisco Peninsula Nor. Cal and moved to Phoenix AZ 18 years ago. I've spent thousands of dollars learning the ropes and trying to beat Mother Nature and the heat and freeze. What fun it is!

Thanks, Susie. I often wonder just how much I've spent on yards and gardens over the years. If I knew, I'd probably still do it all over again. Or perhaps buy an island in the Caribbean or something. Once a gardener, always a gardener. I know there are some exceptions to the rule, but they obviously aren't us. Big Grin
I garden for the pollinators.
